House XII sits on three old paddy fields, at the foot of the Kankeshwar hills. It is long and linear with gable roofs stretching North South across the site. The house opens onto tile roofed porches and verandahs on all sides. The linear arrangement of rooms allows each space a dual view. The eastern façade with concrete frames and wood infill opens towards green forested hills; the western façade with its laterite walls, folds into recessed balconies protected from the rain, overlooks the garden with a swimming pool. On the upper floor is a gallery for books and tea with a moon viewing deck. The house is anchored to the site with a long laterite garden wall and an outhouse with a water tower.
